🌈 Queer Love, Joy, Justice + Community!!

Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 28 at 11:30 AM as MCC Toronto’s annual Church on Church returns to The Concert Hall just before the Pride Parade on the final Sunday of Pride. This is no ordinary Sunday service — it’s a joyful, powerful celebration of faith, music, community, and pride in all its forms.

MCC Toronto’s first service was held above a bar in the village in 1973. Every year, we return to our roots to celebrate Pride with Church on Church. This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 25 years since Rev. Dr. Brent Hawkes CM performed the world’s very first legally recognized same-sex marriages at MCC Toronto.

Church on Church draws more than 900 people for a morning of inspiring worship, world-class music, and genuine connection. It is a service where longtime members, first-time visitors, and people who have felt unwelcome in church spaces for far too long can gather and know they belong. In this sacred space, people are not only welcomed — they are seen, celebrated, and affirmed.

Church on Church is one of MCC Toronto’s most visible and meaningful events because it brings our spiritual mission into the heart of one of the city’s largest public celebrations.

It reminds us — and the wider community — that faith and pride belong together, and that worship can be both deeply reverent and joyfully alive. Last year, one attendee who had not stepped into a church in years stood in the crowd, sang along, and later said, “I didn’t know church could feel like this.”

Come for the service, stay for the Parade, and join us in celebrating a church where love, justice, and belonging are front and centre.
