The Best is Yet to Come Campaign

What a year it has been. From online only Services at the start of the year, to a return of in-person Services in March, to the launch of our transformative ELEVATION-MCC Toronto Campaign in April, to the start of renovation of our spaces in May, to the hiring of a new Human Rights Director in August, to a welcome return of Children’s Church in September, MCC Toronto has been able to move forward with optimism and faith thanks to the members, congregants and our broader communities who have been with us every step of the way.

Your continued belief in the work MCC Toronto does for the 2SLGBTQ+ community means so much to all of us.

Next year, MCC Toronto will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary and we’ve already begun work on a whole slate of exciting projects and events that I think will blow your socks off. Following the completion of the 5,000 net square feet renovations taking place outside our Sanctuary in January 2023, we also will see the opening of our new Human Rights Centre, the roll-out of new human rights and congregational programming made possible through the ELEVATION Campaign.

To MCC Toronto – the best is yet to come!

But the realities of our ‘pseudo’ post-pandemic recovery has meant that MCC Toronto is short of the financial resources needed to sustain and build on our spiritual and human rights work. Offering revenue has dropped 40% over 2019 levels due to many folks not feeling comfortable about returning to in-person Services. A return to our Christmas Eve Service at Roy Thomson Hall was too risky of a proposition this year, and that means the loss of critical revenues that we’ve been able to rely on in the past. And while the ELEVATION Campaign has brought in wonderful new resources to MCC Toronto, those dollars are not replacing the funds needed to maintain our annual operations.

To address a budgetary shortfall, MCC Toronto has launched The Best is Yet to Come Campaign with an urgent goal of raising $125,000 by December 31.

Will you help?

By making a special gift in support of our year-end appeal, you will help ensure that MCC Toronto has the resources to:

  • Continue to respond with love and support to the continuing needs of our congregation and the communities we serve;
  • Prepare for a celebratory 50th Anniversary year with events and activities that will engage congregants both current and past;
  • Expand the slate of Human Rights programming at MCC Toronto, including our life-changing and life-saving LGBTQ+ Refugee Programs.

We know these have been disquieting times but – like you – we have kept the faith. Please consider making a gift in support of our The Best is Yet to Come Campaign so that we can continue to deliver our inclusive spirituality and human rights work. We really can’t do it without the support of congregants and community members like you.

Thank you for your continued love and support.
