The Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto is an inclusive and diverse community of faith that advocates for human rights. We promote and support the rights of  LGBTQ+ people to freedom, self-determination, autonomy, equality, and to live a fulfilling life in safety and radical acceptance. Our community welcomes all people, from all gender identities, all sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, country of origin, nationalities, religions, and languages. You are loved!

Our Refugee Ministry has served over 2500 refugee claimants awaiting their hearing and have settled 29 refugees from around the world through our private sponsorship program. We receive hundreds of requests for help each year from people in countries where LGBTQ+ people are targets of violence, discrimination and even death.

The Canadian Private Sponsorship model provides a route to safety for some LGBTQ+ folks to resettle in Canada. This important work can only happen with your help!

Canadian citizens and permanent residents can gather in small teams and provide an opportunity for an LGBTQ+ person who is persecuted abroad based on their gender identity and/or sexuality to find their way to Canada in a new beginning. MCC Toronto helps Settlement Teams through the application process and provides training and resources to help integrate sponsored LGBTQ+ refugees into life in Toronto.

MCC Toronto has individuals ready for sponsorship, but we need more Settlement Teams to support their applications.

Attend this information session to learn if this opportunity is right for you!
