MCC Toronto invites you to join us for a spectacular 50^th Anniversary Concert celebrating 50 years of service and 50 years of music. This one-night-only immersive concert will trace MCC Toronto’s first 50 years through stories, images and videos drawn from our archives, and – most importantly! – music. Our music director, Jason Jestadt, has lined up over a dozen of our favourite singers who, along with The Choir of MCC Toronto, will perform some of the most iconic music from the past 50 years. This is a once-in-fifty-years opportunity – and you won’t want to miss it!

For 50 years, MCC Toronto has been a place of worship and a place of action for the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Our very existence is rooted in a fight for acceptance, and for the ability to worship without shame; in our struggles to build community with pride and to love who we love unconditionally.

Our arrival at this incredible anniversary milestone has been made possible by the tens of thousands of people who have walked through our doors, attended our services either virtually or in person, or participated in any of our special events since the founding of MCC Toronto in 1973.

Through narration and song, we will revisit the significant community milestones along MCC Toronto’s 50-year journey. We celebrate the victories. We remember the challenges. We take joy in sharing the times, the faces, the places, and the people who have become part of the MCC Toronto family.

The Music and the Talent

MCC Toronto’s 50^th anniversary concert will feature songs and music from Stevie Wonder, the Doobie Brothers, Bob Dylan, the Bee Gees, David Bowie, Supertramp, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Talking Heads, Sting, Jesus Jones, Queen, Nirvana, Elton John, Diane Leah, Pharell Williams, Bruce Cockburn, Katy Perry, and Jonathan Larson.

Our musical guests will include Heather Bambrick(she/her), Alana Bridgewater(she/her), Mark Cassius (he/him), Billy Newton Davis (he/him), Peter Deiwick (he/him), Sterling Jarvis (he/him), Mary Kelly (she/her), Diane Leah (she/her), Messy Margaret (she/her), Shannon McCracken (she/her), Julie Michels (she/her), Jackie Richardson (she/her), and Genevieve Trudel (she/they), as well as The Choir of MCC Toronto, Patti Jamieson & Pride and Joy, and the Soulful Worship and Praise (SWAP) Choir.

We invite your consideration to become a concert donor, purchase tickets, or make a donation that would enable MCC Toronto to extend complimentary tickets to community members who might not be able to afford to attend otherwise.
