Church washed off Church Street

Pride Sunday worship service on June 24, 2018

with Rev. Jeff Rock.

Nearly 100 volunteers set up and prepared for this year’s Church on Church Street service on Pride Sunday. From the stage setup to the rows of chairs, volunteers had the site ready in record time so we could present another amazing Pride service.

Due to heavy rainfall in the hour leading up to our start time, the equipment on stage began to suffer from electrical problems and it was clear that it would not be safe to proceed with an outdoor service on Church Street.

We postponed our service to 1:00 p.m. and relocated it to our church on Simpson Avenue. Two hours later, after volunteers dismantled our street church and moved all our equipment home, we started our Pride Sunday service. The Choir was ready, the band was in place and the clergy were set to lead our worship service. We kicked off Pride Sunday with some truly amazing grace and we made it to the parade on time!
