Sunday June 2 – SWAP

The Soulful Worship and Praise (SWAP) Gospel Choir began in January 2016 in preparation for the first Blacks in Praise & Worship (now Soulful Worship & Praise) service that February.

The choir has been directed since its inception by 16-year MCC Toronto member Catherine Meade, whose past directing highlights include Co-Directing the Acadia University Gospel Choir and Guest Directing the Nova Scotia Mass Choir.  The SWAP Gospel Choir’s overall composition has consistently been primarily refugees from Africa and the Caribbean.

The choir’s pianist is a refugee from Antigua and the drummer, Fancy Adebiyi, is a refugee from Nigeria.
