MCC Toronto Board Update – June 2021
As part of our continuing commitment to be transparent and timely in communicating with our members and congregants we want to highlight some of our recent activities. Your Board meets bi-monthly and works to provide you with the key items arising from our meetings. In addition, you can find a variety of Board documents and congregational communications at https://www.mcctoronto.com/about-us/meet-the-board/
As both Lori Boyce and Lisa Chinnery will be stepping down from the Board following the end of their terms at the Annual Congregational Business Meeting (ACBM) on June 20, Board members thanked them for their enduring commitment and outstanding contributions over the past many years. The Board members wished them well and clearly let them know how much we look forward to supporting them in whatever role they decide to create for themselves as continuing church members. They will be missed.
Rev. Jeff Rock was happy to announce that Bradley Hickman will stand for the position of Co-Vice Moderator/Co-Chair of the MCC Toronto Board of Directors at the ACBM. We have several members of the church expressing an interest in joining our Board of Directors and those folks will be introduced shortly.
Last month Board members and special guest Anne Brayley met on ZOOM for several very productive hours working on creating a go forward strategic plan. Mike Dodds led the meeting and all involved expressed many thanks for his expertise in leading us through a very productive future planning session.
KPIs – It was decided that some of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that the Church has been expressly gathering around giving, attendance and volunteerism, will be reported to congregants in a more regular fashion once in-person church services resumes
Finances – The church has been very fortunate that to date contributions have been steady which is keeping us in a good position to stay on course with the 2021 budget.
Announcement: Rev. Jeff was pleased for all of us to welcome Dave Kerr as our new Director of LGBTQ+ Refugee Programs. He comes to the church with a wealth of experience, a keenness to be part of our church family and a strong commitment to the continued success of our Refugee program.
