A Study of LGBTQ Older Adults’ Experiences
of Aging and Care
The purpose of this research is to learn more about LGBTQ people’s experiences of aging and care in Toronto. What are the conditions that shape how people experience
aging and care?
Seeking participants who:
- Identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and/or queer;
- Are age 55+;
- Have experience receiving care and support for health needs.
To participate in a set of interviews that aim to learn more about your experiences and
perspectives of aging and care.
Are providing or have recently provided care to others (such as partners, friends, family members, acquaintances). To participate in a set of interviews that aim to learn about your experiences and
perspectives on providing care. Participation is voluntary and confidential.

This research is being conducted as part of a PhD program in Anthropology. It has ethics
clearance from the University of Toronto.
