Membership Class
Membership class provides a time to meet and get to
know the Pastor of the church, as well as, go through the history of
Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto. New friendships often form
during the experience of membership class.
It can be a very fulfilling experience becoming a
member of a church family. The support a person can give and receive can
be a tremendous comfort during times of celebration, as well as, in times
of hurt and sorrow. The commitment of the total person can lead to a
commitment and deep relationship with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
The ultimate goal of becoming a member of the family
of Christ is to bring glory to God through the committed service to God’s
family. It is through this commitment that we find peace and comfort in
Jesus.
At the conclusion of the Membership class, a person
should have a good idea of the commitment that comes with being a member
of the church family, should know the basics of Metropolitan Community
Church of Toronto’s statement of faith, be able to commit to the beliefs
and policies of the church and desire to know Jesus Christ for more than
just a name.
Process for Becoming a Member of MCC Toronto
1.
Attend a membership class.
2.
Agree to the
Covenant
for Members.
3. Complete
the
Membership Registration/Financial Form.
4. Complete
the required volunteer forms:
(a)
Spiritual
Gifts Discovery booklet
(b)
Volunteer Data Base Information form
Once these forms have been received by the Volunteer Ministry, a member of
the Volunteer Interviewing Team will be in touch with you.
5. Register
for a membership reception: at the Information Centre on Sundays,
by registering online at
registration form. htm or by
sending an email to
registration@mcctoronto.com.
To allow for preparation, advanced registration is required. Late
registrations are not possible.
On the day of the membership reception, please check in at the registration
desk in the Social Hall 30 minutes prior to the start of the service. At
that time, you will be asked:
♦ to sign the Covenant for Members
During the reception ceremony during the service, you will be asked to
affirm the Covenant for Members.
Completed forms can be handed in on
Sundays at the Information Centre. If you have
